The compilation CD "Dancing In The Rain - the best of The Essence" has been re-released on 26th April 1999 by Cherry Red/Anagram Records.
The Essence are featured on the Gothic/Alternative/Darkwave compilation album 'New Alternatives III' with an alternative recording of their song 'Through The Years'. Out now on M&A Music Art/Nightbreed recordings.
Look out for the Mercury/Polygram CD-maxi/12"single by DJ Paolino Virardi, "Mirage", with guest performances by Hans Diener (lead acoustic guitar) and Mark Tan (piano). This track is also featured on the TV-advertised dance-compilation CD "House Of Clouds" (Mercury/Magnum).
The radio edit of The Essence's "Taking On The World" is featured on the Arcade TV double CD "Absolute Pop", along with songs by a.o. Suede, Transvision Vamp, Stranglers, Urge Overkill and many more.
The re-release of the full back catalogue by Anagram/Cherry Red Records, after the albums "Purity" and "A Monument Of Trust", has been completed with the release of a special compilation on one CD featuring the two original Midnight Music albums "Ecstasy" and "Nothing Lasts Forever".
